Doctrinal Distinctives

Emmanuel Bible Church is a Bible Believing Church that is firmly rooted in a commitment to these fundamental distinctives of the Christian faith:

The following is an overview of the faith that we defend:

  1. Salvation is a gift of God by grace through faith alone.

  2. The 66 books of the Bible, as written in the original manuscripts, are in all their words free from all error and inspired by God.

  3. The Trinity- there is One God who eternally exists as Three Persons.

  4. The Deity and incarnation by virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  5. The direct creation of man as male and female and his subsequent fall into sin.

  6. The substitutionary atonement by Jesus Christ in His death on the cross.

  7. The bodily resurrection and ascension and present intercessory ministry of Jesus in Heaven.

  8. The personal and imminent return of Jesus Christ for His bride.

  9. The resurrection and final assignment of all men to eternal bliss in glory or ruin in Hell.

We teach and practices according to these principles:

  1. We use Scriptures that are translated into contemporary English, but only those that use a word for word philosophy of translation.

  2. We utilize expositional methods in our teaching and preaching of God’s Word.

  3. We are dispensational in theology.

  4. We are not ecumenical in our approach to evangelism but we do cooperate with other Biblical ministries in fulfilling the great commission.

  5. We interpret the creation and flood account in Scripture literally.

  6. Our worship service is:

a. Christ centered not man centered
b. Multi generational not age segregated
c. Blended but conservative in style
d. Scheduled the first day of the week or the Lord’s Day

  1. We reject the evangelical feministic movement.

  2. We are not Charismatic in practice.

  3. Our mode of baptism is immersion as a testimony of faith.

  4. We are not hyper Arminian nor hyper Calvinistic. We believe in both the free will of man and the sovereignty of God.

  5. We are a congregational church and have two Scriptural offices: Pastor’s and deacons.

  6. We are premillenial and pretribulational.

  7. We support Biblical mission organizations that are fulfilling the Great Commission.

  8. We believe Christians should not sue one another in civil courts but should resolve conflicts according to Biblical parameters.

  9. We believe marriage is an institution of God and is a covenant relationship between one man and one woman for life.
